Dr. Garlitz graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1992 and went on to earn his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. He has 18 years of experience as a general dentist and has been practicing in Columbia since 2007. In 2005, he completed a prestigious, year long dental implant continuum at the Triangle Dental Institute in Durham, NC.

He maintains active memberships with the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Society, the Mid Carolina Dental Society, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He also completes several hours of continuing education annually to stay current with the latest procedures and technologies dentistry has to offer.

Outside the office, Dr. Garlitz enjoys outdoor activities such as golf and biking, and he enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Libby and their four children Jack, Julia, Luke, and Mary.
