Q: If you weren’t a dentist, what other career could you see yourself in? I would love to be a “just alright” professional golfer. All the perks of being a pro, none of the stresses of being famous.

Q: Do you have a favorite hobby or activity you enjoy on weekends? Golfing, fishing, running. Really anything that gets me outside.

Q: What’s your favorite book or author? Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. That book is the closest I’ll ever get to climbing Mt. Everest and I’m ok with that.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A doctor, a race car driver, or an engineer. I’m glad one of those stuck and I’m sure my parents are too.

Dr. Peter Mauldin was born and raised in Charleston. He attended Furman University for his undergraduate studies, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences.

Following his graduation from Furman, Dr. Mauldin returned to Charleston to attend the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. During his time at MUSC, he volunteered in the community by traveling to retirement homes to give interactive lectures on oral hygiene. He was also honored with an award for outstanding achievement, contribution, and excellence in prosthodontics from the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics. As a lifelong learner, he is committed to continuously expanding his knowledge to provide his patients with the highest level of care.

Dr. Mauldin enjoys being back in the community he has long called home. When not in the office, he enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, and exploring Charleston’s many restaurants with his fiancée, Bryn.
