Q: What’s your idea of a perfect vacation? Picture a beautiful cold fall morning in a log cabin at the top of a mountain sipping on a hot cup of coffee, overlooking a valley. That’s a perfect vacation for me.

Q: What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten? Horned Melon; It wasn’t anything like I expected. Let’s just say I won’t ever try it again.

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? It would have to be grilled steak basted with rosemary butter, no question about it!

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being a dentist? I enjoy helping people. Whether it is getting someone out of a terrible toothache or replacing a tooth to help someone chew comfortably again, I love being able to serve my community.

Dr. David Shchirov was born in Sacramento, California but moved to Pauline, South Carolina when he was just five. His parents left the Soviet Union and immigrated here to the United States when they were young. As a result, he grew up learning to speak Russian fluently. Dr. David graduated from USC Upstate here in Spartanburg with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then went on to get his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Dr. David got married to his wife Inna when he was still in dental school. They met at church as they both played the piano for choir. When not doing dentistry, David also enjoys rebuilding and fixing fast sporty cars. He also spends a lot of his free time with his wife in the mountains; the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains are one of the many perks of living here in Upstate, SC. Dr. David Shchirov is excited to be a part of Family Dental Health in Spartanburg and to serve the community he grew up in.
