Fun Facts with Dr. Marquette

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Although I will try pretty much anything and love finding new foods wherever we go, I will never turn down chicken tenders with fries and some extra honey mustard. I have a running mental list of my favorite spots for this meal, and I’m hoping to extend that list here in Greenville.

Q: What’s your idea of a perfect vacation? One week in the mountains skiing, hiking and exploring the outdoors. And then one week lounging around on a beach somewhere warm and sunny. Best of both worlds! Other than that, exploring anywhere I haven’t been before is always a blast.

Q: If you couldn’t be a dentist, what would your second career be? I was a competitive swimmer up through high school and also did some coaching, so being a swim coach is definitely something I could enjoy. I also love cooking and I think being a chef would be very interesting and rewarding. I’ve always had a dream of running a food truck where I serve all of my favorite meals and drinks.

Dr. Marquette's Story

Dr. Miles Marquette was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. After graduating from high school in 2013, he enrolled at the University of Alabama, where he participated in undergraduate research in a microbiology lab and served on the executive committee for the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology in May 2017. Following his time in Tuscaloosa, Dr. Marquette returned home and was accepted into the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Class of 2022. During dental school, Dr. Marquette was involved in and held positions in various dental organizations, including the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) and the dental fraternity Delta Sigma Delta (DSD). He also volunteered at Mission Lexington, a free dental clinic, and with Remote Area Medical (RAM) to provide free dental care to underserved rural communities in Kentucky. In his second year at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Marquette met Kalyn, his future wife, who is also a talented dentist and works at Family Dental Health of Five Forks.

Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Marquette furthered his dental education through the General Practice Residency program at the University of Kentucky, where he expanded his knowledge in multiple areas of general dentistry. He now enjoys performing procedures in endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, and more.

In his free time, Dr. Marquette enjoys spending time with his wife and their lab-beagle mix, Honey. He likes skiing, hiking, working out, playing golf, reading, cooking for friends and family, and traveling to new places when time permits. He is a fan of UK and Alabama sports and supports the Cincinnati Bengals during football season. Although natives of Kentucky, both Dr. Marquette and his wife have thoroughly enjoyed living in South Carolina and look forward to exploring their beautiful new city and the surrounding areas. Any and all local food and drink recommendations are appreciated and essential!
