Joyce Radeka, DMD
Dr. Radeka was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina with her parents while in high school. She graduated from Dorman High School and attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina then graduated from Winthrop University, receiving her B.S. in Biology. She attended MUSC School of Dental Medicine in Charleston then returned to the upstate to practice dentistry, opening Family Dental Care in Lyman with business partner and husband, Dr. Frank Hodges. To be closer to Dr. Hodges aging parents, they sold Family Dental Care in 2003 and moved to Columbia, South Carolina. They are avid South Carolina Gamecock fans and enjoyed all the Gamecock Sports while in Columbia. They established their practice, Sandhills Dentistry, where they practiced until 2018 and moved back home to the upstate. They joined Family Dental Health in December of 2019.
Dr. Radeka has been active in animal rescue, volunteering at the Walter Crowe Animal Shelter in Camden, South Carolina while living in Columbia and Hollow Creek Animal Rescue as well as working independently to foster and place several dogs, adopting their three, Molly, Bogey and Domino. She and Dr. Hodges support animal groups such as PAALS (Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services), a group which provides assistance dogs to veterans, children with autism and disabled adults. She is enjoying spending time with her friends and family here in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. Her hobbies include walking, cooking and her newest interest, photography.
