Q: If you couldn’t be a dentist, what would your second career be? Probably a teacher, I taught a little bit in grad school and really enjoyed it. 

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being a dentist? I like the individuality aspect of dentistry, being able to create unique solutions for each patient.

Q: What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten? It’s a long story but KFC in the Mumbai airport. 

Q: What was your first job? I was a paperboy for the Pacific Stars and Stripes in Okinawa Japan. 

Q: How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza? It’s not for me but if that’s how you like to live your life go for it, just know you’re wrong. 

Q: Cats or dogs? Dogs but I have made friends with a couple select cats.

Dr. Andrew Kardohely was born into a military family, leading to a childhood filled with unique experiences across the United States and internationally. However, he has always considered Beaufort, SC, as his true home. He knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue dentistry. His journey towards this career began earnestly after completing his undergraduate studies at Anderson University and completing a master’s degree at Clemson University. It was during these significant years that Dr. Kardohely developed a deep fascination for the various aspects of dentistry, ultimately leading him to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for his dental training.

Dr. Kardohely settled in Charleston, SC, with his wife, Caitlin, who is also a dentist at Family Dental Health. They enjoy the vibrant city life of Charleston, exploring new culinary experiences, and discovering nature. Their love for animals is reflected in their pet, a mini bernedoodle named Clementine, who is a cherished member of their household.

Professionally, Dr. Kardohely is an integral part of the FDH Sumter team, where he takes pride in working alongside a dedicated staff and serving the community. His commitment to dentistry is evident in his daily interactions and the quality of care he provides.
