Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Quite possibly a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I enjoy the simple things in life. 

Q: If you couldn’t be a dentist, what would your second career be? Interior designer or professional figure skater even though I’m not qualified in any way for either.

Dr. Emily Arrowood was born and raised in Taylors, SC. She has always loved the special area that she calls home, with its beautiful mountain views and the friendly people that make up the community. She attended Blue Ridge High School, where she played basketball and tennis and graduated as valedictorian of her class. She then went on to Clemson University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Clemson holds a special place in her heart and she enjoys returning to cheer on the Tigers during football season.

After graduating from Clemson, Dr. Arrowood attended the Medical University of South Carolina, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While there, she served as President of the school’s Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) chapter and as a leader of Dental Community Fellowship. She had the honor of being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the National Dental Honor Society which elects 8 members of the graduating class who show exemplary traits of character, professional qualities, and scholarship. Dr. Arrowood graduated as Second Honor Graduate of her class and was awarded for her outstanding achievement in Oral Medicine. She is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Arrowood met her husband, A.J., while working a college summer job at Dillard’s Ice Cream Parlor in Greer, SC. They were married in 2016 at Taylors First Baptist Church. A.J. is a Greer native and is a teacher and football coach at Greer High School. Emily and A.J. enjoy being outdoors with their Boykin Spaniel, Penny, cheering on the Clemson Tigers, and spending time with their friends and families.

Dr. Arrowood is beyond excited to be back home in the Upstate and is ready to serve the wonderful patients of the community. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Arrowood enjoys exercising, baking, crafting and playing tennis.
