Dr. Mark Stamey, a distinguished graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, has been dedicated to the field of dentistry since 1985. Hailing from Aiken, South Carolina, Dr. Stamey pursued his undergraduate studies at Presbyterian College, where he cheered for the Bluehose.

His early career was marked by a commitment to serving underserved communities in Chester, Charleston, and McCormick, South Carolina. In 1994, Dr. Stamey took a significant step in his career by acquiring an existing dental practice and founding Pendleton Dental Care. Under his stewardship, the practice has thrived and grown over the years.

Family plays a central role in Dr. Stamey’s life. He and his wife, Patty, are proud parents to their son, Matthew, a Clemson University graduate specializing in Conservation Biology. Their family is completed by a spirited Springer Spaniel named Scout.

Dr. Stamey’s interests extend beyond his profession. He is an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities, including bicycling, snow skiing, hiking, boating, canoeing, and gardening. He finds joy in travel, particularly when it involves cycling. His community involvement is extensive, having coached youth baseball and served as an assistant Boy Scout leader. A passionate supporter of Clemson sports and the Atlanta Braves, Dr. Stamey’s enthusiasm for sports is evident.

An advocate for lifelong learning, Dr. Stamey completed the SC Upstate Master Naturalist class through Clemson University and the SC Department of Natural Resources. He has shared his knowledge and love for nature as a tour guide for Jocasee Lake Tours. Since establishing Pendleton Dental Care, he has been a steadfast supporter of local schools, civic organizations, and community activities.

Professionally, Dr. Stamey is an active member of the American Dental Association and the South Carolina Dental Association. His commitment to community health is demonstrated through his roles on the Board of Directors of the Anderson Free Clinic and the Clemson Free Clinic, as well as his service on the Advisory Committee for Tri-County Technical College’s Dental Assisting Program.

Dedicated to providing the best care to his patients, Dr. Stamey continually pursues continuing education courses to stay informed of the ever-evolving field of dentistry.
